Mark Mühlhaus

Mark was born in 1974 in Magdeburg, part of the former German Democratic Republic. Due to a combination of his education in classical photography and his interest in politics, his career took a turn into photo journalism. Especially topics such as renewable energy in the future, and social movements are making up a big part of his work as a photographer. Corporate and commercial photography are not only the means to earn money. It is about passion, for example the change of energy, music or traveling... One of his long term projects is the exposure to remembrance. For many years he has been accompanying people, formerly haunted by the Nazi regime and the following generations. At the same time he has been documenting the Nazi scene in Germany and Europe for over 20 years. Racism and the living conditions of refugees is a big motivational factor for his work. War, destruction and escape are the main topics of his current work. In addition, Mark teaches photography for many years mainly in cooperation with memorial places.
